The Laurel Highlands Off
Road Bicycling Association in conjunction with the Benscreek Canoe Club
will be hosting a guided mountain bike ride 3:00pm Saturday, April 26, 2008
for those that would like to experience some newly built trails at a local
park (Highland Park) ten minutes from the rendezvous festival site
(Greenhouse Park). Bring your boats
and bikes!
There will be a beginner,
intermediate, and advanced ride to accommodate everyone. There are approximately 15 miles of
trail, 8 of which is newly constructed incredible
singletrack. There are a few newly
constructed “play” areas as well.
The trails consist of a
range from smooth singletrack to INCREDIBLY technical rocky
singletrack. There is smooth doubletrack and rocky doubletrack
as well. The terrain is mainly flat
with some gradual inclines and descents.

available from the American Eagle Screen Print and Embroidery booth at the
rendezvous festival site (Greenhouse Park).
Know a friend that does not
yet paddle, but bikes?…..Bring them too!
Directions to ride site (Highland
Park): PA Route 56 to Walters Avenue Exit (first
exit west of US Route 219). If
traveling east on PA Route 56 then turn left onto Walters Avenue at end of
exit ramp. If traveling west on PA
Route 56 then turn right onto Walters Avenue off of exit ramp.
Proceed about a mile on Walters
Avenue to a four-way intersection
with a military tank displayed on your right. Turn Right at the tank into Highland
Park. We will be meeting at the first parking
area on the left near the tennis courts.
Ride at 3:00pm.
