::    Mountain Bike During the Rendezvous

The Laurel Highlands Off Road Bicycling Association in conjunction with the Benscreek Canoe Club will be hosting a guided mountain bike ride 3:00pm Saturday, April 26, 2008 for those that would like to experience some newly built trails at a local park (Highland Park) ten minutes from the rendezvous festival site (Greenhouse Park).  Bring your boats and bikes!

There will be a beginner, intermediate, and advanced ride to accommodate everyone.  There are approximately 15 miles of trail, 8 of which is newly constructed incredible singletrack.  There are a few newly constructed “play” areas as well.

The trails consist of a range from smooth singletrack to INCREDIBLY technical rocky singletrack.  There is smooth doubletrack and rocky doubletrack as well.  The terrain is mainly flat with some gradual inclines and descents.

More information will be available from the American Eagle Screen Print and Embroidery booth at the rendezvous festival site (Greenhouse Park).

Know a friend that does not yet paddle, but bikes?…..Bring them too!

Directions to ride site (Highland Park):  PA Route 56 to Walters Avenue Exit (first exit west of US Route 219).  If traveling east on PA Route 56 then turn left onto Walters Avenue at end of exit ramp.  If traveling west on PA Route 56 then turn right onto Walters Avenue off of exit ramp.

Proceed about a mile on Walters Avenue to a four-way intersection with a military tank displayed on your right.  Turn Right at the tank into Highland Park.  We will be meeting at the first parking area on the left near the tennis courts.  Ride at 3:00pm.
